Urasenke Tea Ceremony
Short answer: Urasenke is one of the three Sen families. Its lineage traces back to Sensō Sōshitsu, the fourth son of Genpaku Sōtan. A session may be a demonstration, an introduction or a structured class.
What the Urasenke name indicates
The name connects a practice with a lineage. It is not enough to describe a session. The page should state whether visitors observe, participate in selected steps or follow regular instruction.
Urasenke, Omotesenke and Mushakōjisenke are the three Sen families. They do not cover every Japanese tea tradition.
Currently verified classes in France
Tenri Paris lists Urasenke classes every Friday from 28 August 2026. Times, prices, levels and membership conditions must be checked before registration.
